Spend (in charity) out of the sustenance that We have bestowed on you before that time when death will come to someone, and he shall say: “O my Lord! If only you would grant me reprieve for a little while, then I would give in charity, and be among the righteous” – The Holy Quran, 63:10

There’s no greater month to give charity than in the blessed month of Ramadan. Charity is so important because it allows our hearts to remain humble and cleanses our attachment to the accumulation of material goods. Giving of yourself selflessly forces you to think about your role in the greater community and how one simple act can change the world. The word philanthropy actually means “to love humanity” in Greek.

Show your love of humanity by donating during Ramadan. Here are some organizations and causes that you can contribute your time, talent or money. No gift is too small! Your intention is what matters most.
